Questions & troubleshooting
Who is Boxing Timer for?
People practicing boxing, sanda, Muay Thai, kickboxing or MMA who need configurable rounds for bag work, shadowboxing, footwork or their own drills. It provides timing, cues and pause/resume controls. It does not provide courses, an AI coach, punch analysis or partner matching.
Does it run while the phone is locked?
Keep Boxing Timer on screen during training. Locking your device or moving the app to the background pauses the session and saves progress. Return to the app to continue. Music from another app can play in the background while Boxing Timer stays in the foreground.
How do I use glove tap?
With an available trial session or Pro access, enable glove tap in Settings. Place the phone flat on a stable surface and follow the calibration and sensitivity instructions. Gently tap the phone body or case to pause or resume. Do not punch the device or use a normal striking motion. Screen controls remain available.
Why is glove tap not recognized?
Check that the control is enabled and that a trial or Pro access is available. Check any requested motion permission and redo calibration on the surface you will actually use. Adjust sensitivity and try a gentle tap before training. If recognition remains unreliable, use on-screen controls and contact support.
How do I set up Siri?
Enable Siri controls in the app and follow its system setup instructions. Device, language and Siri settings must support the action. The Simplified Chinese settings include shortcuts that can be imported through Apple's Shortcuts app. The app must remain on screen. Siri controls pause and resume; start, end and reset use the screen.
Which headphones support head tilt?
Headphone tilt is experimental and requires compatible headphones that expose motion data to iOS. A Bluetooth audio connection by itself does not establish compatibility. Use the app's compatibility check, complete the adaptation process and verify recognition before training. If the check or recognition fails, use another control.
Does pausing lose my remaining time?
Pausing retains your phase, round and remaining time. Resume to continue the same session. A preparation countdown can give you time to reset your position before the saved countdown continues.
Can I listen to music while training?
Start music in your music app first, then return to Boxing Timer and keep it on screen. Spoken and sound cues mark the training stages. During cues, other audio can briefly lower and then recover. Check your device volume and audio route if you cannot hear the cues.
What is free, and what does Pro unlock?
Basic round timing and on-screen controls are free. A new installation includes one full session to try Pro controls, shared by glove tap, Siri and compatible-headphone tilt. After that, Pro is a one-time purchase with no auto-renewing subscription. Check the price shown in the app for your region.
How do I restore Pro?
Use the app's Restore Purchases action with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Restoration needs Apple's purchase service. If access is missing, confirm the account and network, retry restoration, then email support with the issue and any relevant purchase confirmation after hiding unrelated personal details.
Does it support iPad?
The app supports iPhone and iPad with iOS / iPadOS 18 or later. Headphone tilt and Siri have additional hardware and system requirements. When released, the App Store listing is the final reference for compatibility and regional availability.
Why can I not download it yet?
The app is preparing for its public App Store release. Its product page may not be available until release, and availability depends on your Apple Account region. This website does not distribute installation profiles or unofficial iOS packages.
Do I need an account?
No app account is required. The current version has no ads. Training settings, progress and motion-control information are processed on the device; purchases, Siri and support emails involve their respective external services. Read the privacy policy for the full details.
